Lean System

Types of Wastes we have in our company:

1. Waiting ~ unbalanced workstations (losing times) - Customers often have to wait longer than expected when they're ready to pick up the car they booked. Customers may have to wait for the car to be prepared and cleaned, or they might come in contact with a problem such as a car is not available, there is a mechanical issue so employees have to find another vehicle that the customer agrees to use to their liking.
2. Transportation ~ excessive movement handling of products(Employees excessively moving to get every car prepared for the customer, this gives us a bad review, we're not paying so much attention to the customer service but paying more attention to the product)
3. Motion~ A lot of unnecessary movement from employees (example: making sure the car is right for the next customer. There is a process for the car to be ready such as, inspect the car, clean/prepare the car for the next person who will be renting the car)

The System we use:

Pull method of workflow - which gives customers demand activities the production of the service of the item.
- Customers book the car they want online. This automatically gives the customer a, yes, and we the company has to give the customer what the individuals want if it's available. Customer demands what they want, from the car style, to how many days the customer will need it for. We Supply the customer they want.

- This leads to our number one problem of overbooking.
-Giving each customer what they want when they ask for it, backs us up in our inventory.
- Not only does this take a toll on our inventory, but sometimes we can not check on our car for the next customer who books it, we sometimes will let the car be taken, and it can be a 50/50 where the car can be in worse condition than it has already been, also takes a toll on the company's inventory

Our Solution:

Our company needs a new online booking system.
Where this controls both systems online for customers and for the company as well. Keeps not only the employees but the customers up to date to which cars are available for a customer to book. Not only that, but the system for the employees also gives us notice when the car needs to be worked on and/or is ready for the next customer to rent out.
